Bolster your students’ learning with the accessible advice contained within these student-oriented print and digital titles Hodder Education Magazines 1 ENGAGING, TOPICAL CONTENT With up-to-date information and topical articles from the worlds of science, business, politics, geography, psychology and more besides, the Review magazines from Hodder Education provide a top-up to your textbooks. Up-to-date articles help to take some of the pressure off teachers – particularly in the run-up to exams, as the magazines give them a go-to place to find a wealth of topical content, without them having to spend time researching examples elsewhere. Equipped with contemporary content and context, students will feel more confident in approaching exams. 2 STUDENT SUPPORT AND TEACHER PD The magazines can be used for ‘stretch and challenge’ tasks, lesson plans and debates, and also to prepare students for higher education by presenting different points of view and interpretations without dictating their responses. Students can use the magazines to choose topics for projects and further study, strengthening both their subject knowledge and exam skills. We have also had feedback that teachers find the magazines useful for their ongoing professional development, helping them to get up to speed quickly – particularly when covering new or unfamiliar subjects. 3 ONLINE UPDATES, ANSWERS AND EXTRAS Subscribers to the print magazines and their online versions receive quarterly issues or online updates, with the exception of two magazines that publish three times a year, and two more online-only eLibraries. In addition to these regular issues and updates, bonus topical articles are published every year and emailed to subscribers, while the website provides poster downloads, PowerPoint presentations, answers, worksheets and suggestions for further reading, all in one place. The articles within the magazines also include weblinks to other media. 4 UP-TO-DATE AND BACK ISSUE ARTICLES Our new eLibraries put hundreds of articles at students’ fingertips, with articles going back a decade or more and growing all the time. Featuring improved search and browsing – including browsing by topic – the online magazine resources are designed to meet the complex requirements of teaching, planning lessons, and setting students homework and independent research tasks. We have recently streamlined the allocation process to save teachers and librarians time, with our eMagazines and eLibraries being separate, web-based purchases to the print magazines. 5 ENJOYABLE AND INSPIRING Containing content tailored to help with areas that students find more challenging, the magazines’ articles are succinct, student-friendly and produced by knowledgeable authors, including higher education practitioners and subject experts. In one teacher’s words, “I love these magazines; they are packed full of fascinating ideas and guidance. This balance of academic, creative and exam focus can support those skills that go beyond textbooks, keep teachers up to date and allow students to take their learning to the next level.
