Teach Primary Issue 18.4
As parents, carers and educators, we all know the importance of teaching children about nutrition and healthy eating habits. Healthy Heroes is a fun and exciting way to do this, all built around the Food Standards Agency Core Competencies for Children, aligned with the National Curriculum for Key Stages 1 & 2, and content certified by Dieticians. Engage young minds in healthy eating habits with our bite-sized educational series. Freddy the Fork Get access to 7 interactive animated episodes, each around 20 minutes long, as well as 3 activity worksheets and a recipe per episode. The downloadable resources that accompany each episode, supported by lesson suggestions to help weave the concepts into wider learning, make it simple for teachers to incorporate Healthy Heroes into the KS1 and KS2 curriculum. The animated series supports teachers in educating children about the role that food plays in their overall health and wellbeing; as well as how to identify healthy food choices, make informed decisions, and develop lifelong habits that will serve them well in adulthood. From fruits and vegetables, to carbohydrates, dairy, protein, fats, and sugar... each episode focuses on a specific nutrient and how these affect the body and mind in their own way.
