Top School Trips 6
Bucket list adventure We wanted to arrange a school trip that would give students a cultural experience that was very different from what they could enjoy in the UK or Europe. We know Japan’s on so many people’s bucket lists, but most families can’t afford a family holiday there. That’s why we wanted to give our students the chance to visit. Japan’s reputation for being such a safe country to travel to just made it all the more inviting. OUR BIG DAY OUT “Going to Japanwas the best trip ever!” HowHalsbury Travel helped St Anne’s Catholic High School for Girls experience a wonder-filled week away www.halsbury.com T: 0115 9404 303 E: enquiries@halsbury.com // HALSBURY TRAVEL Ancient and modern culture We enjoyed so many different experiences on our trip to Japan. We experienced its history and culture at the Imperial Palace and the Meiju Jingu Shrine, where students learnt about the ancient Shinto religion. We experienced Japan’s incredible nature on a boat cruise on Lake Ashi. And we visited Harajuku, the centre of Japanese youth culture, and Akihabara – a hub for all things anime and manga. We even tried that Japanese phenomenon, karaoke! Planning made easy Halsbury have a good reputation within schools. This was such a huge trip; we really needed a company we could rely on and trust. Working with Halsbury was super easy. They always got back to me within 24 hours. I was never left confused or unsure of what was going on. They made it so easy to organise. I’ve already recommended Halsbury to colleagues – they’re professional, understanding and supportive. { S TUDENT V I EWS } “I never knew that a country was capable of changing my whole perspective on life. We saw such unique landmarks and both city life and traditional life in Japan. Tokyo was unforgettable, and it makes me want to become a better person every day.” Ayesha, Year 10 “Being so far away from home was quite overwhelming. However, this has made me more independent, responsible, and confident and enabled me to build amazing memories with my school friends that will hold a special place in my heart forever.” Leia, Year 9 “The experience has made me determined to expand my horizons and venture out to the rest of the world to see the different cultures and enjoy every experience it has to offer.” Scarlett, Year 9 Lifelong memories My lasting memories of this trip will include landing in Japan and the girls all shouting, “We’re in Tokyo!” And I’ll always remember our time on Nakamise Street, where we enjoyed visiting traditional Japanese restaurants, took part in rituals, pulled our fortune, and tasted traditional street food. We were also able to surprise the students with a visit to the incredible Disney Sea theme park – we were there all day and all had Mickey Mouse ears to wear! www.teachwire.net/school-trips | 27 PARTNER CONT ENT
